Prospect Sierra Alumni Action Award
Announcing the Prospect Sierra Alumni Action Award Winners for 2013!
The Student Council is pleased to announce the Prospect Sierra Alumni Action Award winners for 2013. As you may recall, this year we are celebrating two alumni changemakers, one for high-school-aged alumni, and the other for an alum in college through age 30.
Miles Makdisi (Class of ’01) received the most votes, winning the grand prize for his work with Sports for Development in Colombia. Miles’ work aims to provide lessons in leadership, values, community action, and social justice, as well as improved opportunities for education and work, amongst youth displaced by violence.
The winners in our high school category are Elinor Lewis and Aden Copeland (Class of ’11) who created and built the Arts Benefitting Children (ABC) program which sends high school volunteers to teach dance and drama to elementary after school programs in underprivileged communities who may not otherwise be exposed to the performing arts at school.
And congratulations go out to all of our finalists, as well:
- Aaron Mandel (Class of ’96)
- Perry Nalle (Class of ’12)
- Kelly Richardson (Class of ’94)
Please join us in congratulating all of our winners and finalists!
