How to Apply

There are two application streams: one for Elementary School students (Grades K through 4), and one for Middle School students (Grades 5 through 8). Both streams start with Admissions Inquiry Form, a required step in the Admissions process at Prospect Sierra.


 

Step One: Submit an Admissions Inquiry Form

The first step towards becoming a Prospect Sierra family is to let us know about your child. Get started today by filling out the Admissions Inquiry Form.

 

Step Two: Attend an Information Day

You are invited to come and receive an overview of the school, attend workshops led by teachers, and see the facilities. No reservations required. Information packets and applications are available, and there is an opportunity to reserve a place on a school tour.

Grades K-4 Information Day

Sunday, October 30, 12:30–4:00 p.m.

The Elementary Information Day Program is for parents and guardians (adults only please).

Grades 5-8 Information Day

Sunday, November 6, 12:30–4:00 p.m.

The Middle School Information Day Program is for parents, guardians, and middle school applicants.

 

Step Three: Go On a School Tour

Schedule and attend a school tour. Reserve a tour on Information Day or by contacting the Admissions Office.Tours conclude in a question-and-answer session with the Head of School, Division Head, Director of Admissions, and current parents/guardians.

Grades K-4 School Tour

Tours are held on selected weekdays from 8:45-10:45 a.m. (Parents/guardians applying to the elementary school are strongly encouraged to tour the middle school, as well! Please inquire when you reserve your elementary tour.)

Grades 5-8 School Tour

Tours are held on selected weekdays from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

 

Step Four: Apply

Complete and submit an application and required forms as early as possible, including the nonrefundable application fee.

Families interested in tuition assistance should submit an application as soon as possible, and no later than January 13, 2012. You may apply online at http://sss.nais.org/parents/. K-8 Buddies Play Leapfrog

Kindergartners play leapfrog with their 8th grade buddies

Grades 5-8 ISEE

Middle school applicants must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) no later than January 2012 and submit results to the Admissions Office. See the ISEE Online Guide for testing information, registration forms, and deadlines. Prospect Sierra is one of the test sites.

 

Step Five: Schedule an Applicant Visit

Upon receiving your application, the school will contact you to schedule your child’s visit.

Grades K-4 Visits

Kindergarten applicants come to Prospect Sierra for 2 hours in January or February. Applicants for grades 1-4 come for 2 hours on Saturday, February 11, 2012.

Grades 5-8 Visits

Sixth grade applicants participate in a group activity day in February. Applicants for grades 5, 7, and 8 visit their current grade at Prospect Sierra for a half-day in February.

 

Step Six: Receive Notification

In accordance with East Bay Independent School Association agreements, Prospect Sierra notifies families on March 9, 2012.

 

Step Seven: Return Your Contract

Also in accordance with East Bay Independent School Association agreements, Prospect Sierra asks families to return contracts as soon as possible, no later than March 16, 2012.
