PS Alums Making an Impact

Congratulations to Prospect Sierra alum, Jaya Nagarajan-Swenson ‘14, who just graduated summa cum laude from Mount Holyoke College with a double major in astronomy and biology! Jaya’s research focused on low surface-brightness spiral galaxies, and culminated in an honors thesis called “Dark Matter in the Darkest Galaxies.” At Mount Holyoke, they also worked in the maker space, was a coxswain on the rowing team, and helped found an organization for student-athletes of color and first-gen student-athletes. Next stop for Jaya – a Ph.D. program in observational astronomy at the University of Virginia!
