Howard McCoy

Howard McCoy, 8th Grade Humanities Teacher and Advisor, was born and raised in Compton, California and has over 27 years of experience teaching at both the middle and high school levels. He double majored and received his BA in history and Black studies at UC Santa Cruz, and then went on to earn his MA in history at Texas Southern University, located in Houston, Texas. In 2015, Howard became a National Board Certified Teacher, through a rigorous process, requiring intense self-reflection and analysis of one’s own practice. In his spare time, Howard enjoys training in Muay Thai, a martial art from Thailand, cooking, and traveling.
