Happy Lot Farm with Kindergarteners
🐓 Kindergarteners’ first study trip to Happy Lot Farm and Garden (@happylotfarm) allowed them to experience what happens when time is spent nurturing and developing a single idea!
At the farm, students heard from Ms. Brooks, a local Richmond resident who took an empty lot and turned it into a beautiful, thriving farm and garden for the community.
Ms. Brooks saw a problem in her neighborhood and instead of waiting for someone else to solve it, took small steps over the course of 12 years to build something that the community could benefit from. She continues to give her time generously; during their trip kindergarteners took part in a scavenger hunt, painted rocks, and created seed bombs!
Thank you @happylotfarm for inspiring our students to think outside the box, test limits to make the world a better place, and to create a community that will honor and trust each other’s ideas!
