David Allen

David Allen, 5th Grade Humanities Teacher and Advisor, joined Prospect Sierra in 2014. He grew up in the New York City area and earned his BA from Yale University. He was inspired to teach at Prospect Sierra by its commitment to justice, innovation, and the idea that learning should be both challenging and joyful. He values human connection with his students, learning about their lives and interests outside of school, and sharing about his own. Some of the things he enjoys most are spending time with his partner and their son, hiking, soccer, reading, music, gardening, trying cool new restaurants (or new recipes at home), and playing with his cat.
