Nathan Tanaka
Middle School Division Head
Nathan Tanaka, Middle School Division Head, joined Prospect Sierra in 2015 as a fifth grade humanities teacher and became Division Head in 2019. He served as middle school co-Technology Team Leader and as the Middle School Diversity and Inclusion Team Leader for three years. In his ten-year tenure as a teacher, he also taught at the American School in Japan (Tokyo, Japan), Shady Hill School (Cambridge, MA), and the Meadowbrook School of Weston (Weston, MA). Nathan grew up in the Bay Area and attended high school at the American School in Japan in Tokyo. He holds a BA in international relations, Japanese studies, and child development from Tufts University. He was trained at the Teacher Training Center at Shady Hill School and holds a Master of Education from Lesley University in middle school humanities. When not at Prospect Sierra he enjoys playing basketball, fishing, camping, and cooking.
