WWII Oral History Project Lives On
Just before graduating, 8th graders were proud to present a collection of oral histories gathered from folks who lived through the Great Depression and WWII. After hours of conversation with our interviewees, students translated their notes into full narratives and brought these stories together as bound books. From surviving Japanese internment and the Holocaust to serving as an interrogator at the Nuremberg Trials, our interviewees have led remarkable lives. Students were proud to share their stories during a celebration in their honor. We are ever grateful to them and to our 8th grade humanities teachers for making this special project happen over the last 20 years!
